MGM are delighted to confirm David Price as the latest addition to our growing stable of boxers.
The Heavyweight Division is currently in the midst of an exciting new era and MGM
firmly believe that David Price will feature prominently on the world scene within the next twelve
months.
Price, former Commonwealth Gold and Olympic Bronze medallist, has experienced mixed
fortunes in the professional ranks. A former British and Commonwealth champion before
suffering shock defeats to Tony Thompson and Erkan Teper, both men subsequently failing
drug tests, the latter being declared a no-contest.
Pushing those controversies firmly aside, the Liverpool favourite is preparing for a fresh assault
on the Heavyweight Division and believes he has joined the right team to guide his path.
"I'm excited to be part of a thriving team and it's going to be a really good move for me and my career going forward. My management situation is something I've been thinking about for a while now, and with the opportunities that are available at Heavyweight, I believe I've made the right
decision" he said.
MGM's Sam Kynoch was delighted to welcome Price to the team,"David is a great signing and
we are extremely pleased to welcome him to MGM. The Heavyweight Division is experiencing a
real boost in terms of public interest and we look forward to David establishing himself amongst
the elite"
The Heavyweight Division is renowned for the explosive power the fighters possess, something
Sam believes makes Price a real threat to the current Heavyweight scene, he continued.
"One
punch can change everything in Heavyweight boxing and with David, we have one of the biggest
punching Heavyweights in the world."
MGM's Matthew Macklin believes the Heavyweight Division is perfectly poised for Price's arrival
on the world scene, stating "I've known David for a long time, as far back as 2000 when he first
came on the amateur squad at Crystal Palace, I'm looking forward to seeing him fulfil his
potential and in the big fights where he belongs."
MGM enjoy a great relationship with David's promotional team - Sauerland Promotions - and look
forward to working alongside them on the next chapter of his boxing career. One which Team
MGM are sure will result in a world title opportunity within the next year.
