Illunga "Junior" Makabu (Third from left) fights for the vacant WBC Cruiserweight title on Bank Holiday Sunday.

Ahead of his upcoming WBC Cruiserweight title contest, Illunga Makabu is training with Johnney Roye at MGM Manchester. The Democratic Republic of Congo native is sure to face an intimidating atmosphere fighting local favourite Tony “Bomber” Bellew at Goodsion Park (home of Everton Football Club) on 29th May 2016. However, Makabu (19-1), is full of confidence having bounced back from an unsuccessful debut to win 19 on the bounce, with 18 of those coming within the distance.

The man known as “Junior” is leaving no stone unturned, arriving in the UK with plenty of time to acclimatise and make any finishing touches to his preparation. With both men possessing genuine knockout power, this promises to be an explosive contest for as long as it lasts.
