Saltire Promotions are delighted to announce that Inverness’ Andrew Mackay and Ryan Collins will contest the Scottish Lightweight title on June 24th at the Raddison Hotel in Glasgow. Mackay is undefeated in five contests and produced a hard fought victory last time out at Aberdeen’s Beach Ball Room, and ‘The North Star’ Mackay is delighted with the news that he will fight for the Scottish title. “It’s a title that has been a goal of mine since I turned professional. I can’t thank my management team enough for getting me this opportunity already.” “Ryan Collins will be my toughest test to date and this fight is guaranteed to be a cracker. The last six months have been a whirlwind for myself and I promise to do whatever it takes to bring the Scottish title back to the highlands.” Mackay’s opponent is Irvine’s Ryan Collins who brings more experience to the contest, having competed 14 times a professional, winning 12. Collins, like Mackay is over the moon with the opportunity to fight for the Scottish title and the Irvine man is in confident mood ahead of the clash on June 24th. “I’m delighted I am boxing for the Scottish title. I’ve been chapping at the door for a while now so I’m happy to finally getting the opportunity to fight for the Scottish title.” “I’ll be leaving no stone un-turned in camp in the next nine and a half weeks. Thank you to Iain Wilson and Colin Bellshaw giving me the opportunity to fight for the Scottish title. My apprenticeship is over and now it’s time to start collecting these belts!” Promoters Colin Bellshaw and Iain Wilson are delighted with the news they have secured the contest on June 24th and expect Mackay vs Collins to be an all out war. Colin Bellshaw gave his thoughts ahead of the June 24th showdown. “This fight will be a great fight on a bill that will also have some more cracking fights on. Mackay is taking a step up against the more experience Collins however we believe this is a 50/50 fight and a fight that everyone in attendance will enjoy.” Tickets are priced at £85 for the event at Glasgow’s Raddison Hotel and are available from all boxers on the bill and the Saltire Boxing Gym in Paisley
