Flyweight Iain Butcher has been added to the MGM Promotions card on Saturday 27th February bill at Bellahouston Sports Centre. Butcher who still holds the WBO European Flyweight title will compete in a six round contest as preparation for a bigger contest that will lie in wait for him this year. The flyweight division in Britain in buzzing at the moment, with Andrew Selby, Prince Patel and MGM stablemates Charlie Edwards and Kevin Satchell all looking to be in title contention on both the domestic and world scene in the coming 12 months. Butcher spoke ahead of his ring return, "I'm glad to be back boxing and glad to have something to look forward too! I'm hoping after this fight I can push forward towards a title fight. The British title was dragged out so my aim is to get this fight out of the way and hoping that all goes well, I will look to go down the Commonwealth or European route to secure a title but for now I am fully focused on the 27th at Bellahouston". Butcher joins a bill which includes featherweight Michael Roberts Jnr and Super Middleweight David Brophy both pitted against highly rated opposition as they await title opportunities of their own. They are joined by rising prospects Adam Mackenzie, Mafc Kerr and Gary Murray. The bill on February 27th also features the pro debut of Falklirk'sHaringey Cup winner Stevie Beattie.
