Thomas Dickson is ready for his second professional contest on January 28th at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza hotel.
The Livingston Lightweight will be looking to crack on from his impressive first performance back in December where he outpointed the tried and tested Kris Laight in Edinburgh. Dickson has already begun to establish himself as somewhat of a local celebrity in Livingston, having being paraded on the pitch at half time of a Livingston FC. The likable lad has not let early career success go to his head as he looks to crack on with his career in 2016 under the guidance of MGM Promotions Scotland,
“People coming to watch me can expect a more explosive display from my last fight. The lad I’m boxing is a different style from my bout in December, he is more of a come forward fighter. So there will be the chance there to engage and show people what happens when I land with an 8oz glove. My opponent is a tough durable boxer so again know to be switched on from the start but we have our game plan set out ready to put into action next week.”
Dickson joins Marc Kerr, Stephen Tiffney and Stephen Simmons on next weeks Burns Supper Event and appears to be really excited not just to be boxing again, but to be a part of an impressive event in the MGM Promotions Scotland’s Boxing Dinner Club series,
“The event is looking set to be a good one. I jumped at the chance when Sam Kynoch gave me the call to get me involved in the show. MGM and Sam don’t do poor or average events so credit to the work put in by the team on each show. Every event is set up correctly and the boxing fans are made to feel part of it 100%. I can’t thank people enough for coming out to see me perform again so soon after Xmas as for a lot of people financially it wouldn’t be the easiest. So in this fight will be good to let my hands go and most importantly perform well and confidently ahead of what will be a busy year.”
Tickets are still available for the MGM Promotions Scotland Burns Supper Event from all boxers on the bill or by emailing info@mgm-scotland.co.uk
